A shalabhanjika or shalabhanjika is a term found in Indian art and literature with a variety of meanings. In Buddhist art, it means an image of a woman or Yakshi, often holding, a tree or a reference to Maya near the sala tree giving birth to Siddhartha (Buddha).
In this context, shalabhanjika may be related to ancient tree deities in Indian popular religion, related to fertility. Buddhism in its early years assimilated many local deities, cults amongst which fertility cults were denoted by such semi divine entities called Shalabhanjika or Sura Sundari.
This ring, with its silver, gold tones and Turquoise stone, adds elegance to any style.
