Compton 1896: “Compton” by William Morris. This painting is believed as one of ‘last design’ created by Morris. Stand out in parties or any other place you are. This necklace is detailed to perfection with every flower leaf carved and created finely to make this necklace look at its best. 

One can see tulips and poppies woven into a rich, flowing pattern. This was always a definitive style of Morris which was later made best known for the Wall-papers. The scale of the flowers indicates that the paper was intended for a large, ceremonial room.

This design was created and later produced in 1896 as a wallpaper for private estates. It was first mounted in now a City of England called Wolverhampton (situated in Central England). The 19th-century Wolverhampton Art Gallery now resides the collection of William Morris interiors and landscapes.
